Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged Alexandre Lacazette to concentrate solely on the Gunners following the player’s admission that he has begun negotiations with “several clubs.”
The 30-year-contract old’s with the London Club will expire at the end of the season, and he will become a free agent in the summer. Thus, the Frenchman is free to negotiate contract terms with other clubs that may be interested in obtaining his skills in the future.
In contrast, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged Alexandre Lacazette to concentrate on the Gunners while still under contract with the Premier League outfit.
According to Arsenal manager Arteta, “Contracts begin and end with the expiration date that you have agreed on the day that you put the pen down,” he added.
Lacazette stated in an interview with Canal Plus earlier this week that he “missed” the opportunity to participate in the Champions League.
Arsenal was not involved in any European competitions this season because they finished 8th in their previous season in England.
However, this time around, the London club is in a three-way battle with Tottenham and Manchester United for a place in the top 4. According to the club, Arsenal’s hopes of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League have been hampered by three consecutive defeats.
Since Arteta removed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the captaincy in December, Alexandre Lacazette has been in charge of Arsenal since then.
Also speaking in French, the Frenchman stated that he had “never lost contact” with Lyon, whom he had left to join Arsenal five years earlier.
Following the conclusion of this season, it appears as though Lacazette will be departing Arsenal’s ranks.
What’s next for Mikel Arteta and Alexandre Lacazette in their respective careers?
Arsenal is now vying for a position in the Premier League’s Top 4 by winning their last two games. Tottenham Hotspur is three points ahead of Arsenal in seven games. The Gunners have a game in hand and are seven points behind Tottenham Hotspur. According to the current schedule, Arteta’s team will go to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night to take on Chelsea. Lacazette, on the other hand, continues to be one of Arteta’s most essential players on the front line.
