The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the deadline for purchasing media rights to the (IPL) for 2023-2027. The Governing Council of the IPL had published the ‘Invitation to Tender’ (“ITT”) materials available for payment of the non-refundable ITT fees on March 29, 2022. Exhibit I is the invitation to purchase the ITT documents (“Invitation”), issued on March 29, 2022. Following appeals from various groups, BCCI has decided to extend the deadline for purchasing ITT documents to May 20, 2022.
Exhibit I outlines the procedure for purchasing the ITT documents. All additional provisions in Exhibit I apply here (including the non-refundable ITT fee amount). Anyone interested in submitting a bid must first acquire the ITT. Only individuals who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the ITT and the other terms and restrictions outlined therein are allowed to bid. It is made clear that buying this ITT does not entitle anyone to bid. At any time and in any manner, BCCI maintains the right to terminate or change the bidding process.

In a release, BCCI secretary Jay Shah stated that an e-auction would be held starting June 12, 2022. Anyone interested in participating in the e-auction must first purchase the ITT, available for a non-refundable fee of Rs 25,00,000.
