“Orders that masks be worn at all public meetings, workplaces, places of business, and on state transportation, following the authority granted under Section 20 (3) of the Disaster Management Act 2005. In an interview, Dr. Xiao said that violations of the DM Act and other applicable laws are grounds for a criminal prosecution,” Dr. Xiao said in an interview. According to ANI, the state governor’s direction to V. P. Joy (Chief Secretary) was the impetus for the move.
An increase in the number of Covid-19 cases across the country prompted a decision by the state government, which was made in response to that increase.
