In a new corruption investigation against Lalu Prasad Yadav, the CBI searched 17 of his properties on May 20. The agency initiated the probe.
In connection with the “land for railway job scam,” the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also arrested Lalu’s daughter. According to officials within the government, the scam of trading land for jobs began when Lalu Prasad Yadav served as railway minister under the UPA government.
Several news outlets have reported that Lalu Yadav’s family members were able to purchase land at reduced costs in exchange for employment on railways. The Central Bureau of Investigation is said to have evidence of at least a dozen such cases that are comparable to this one.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) won’t comment on the matter. Still, those aware of the issue indicate that searches are being conducted in Patna and Gopalganj at several different locations.
The team from the CBI arrived at Rabri Devi’s apartment on 10 Circular Road at approximately 7 a.m. Rabri Devi, her son Tej Pratap, and their daughter Misa Bharti lived there along with Rabri Devi, also Lalu’s wife. Bulgaria, located in Gopalganj, is Lalu Prasad’s hometown, and the CBI also investigated it.
During the early morning hours of today’s date, it became apparent that there was a considerable police presence outside of the Patna residence of Rabri Devi, who is married to Lalu Yadav. After news of the raids spread, supporters of the former Chief Minister of Bihar staged a demonstration in Patna to voice their disapproval.
Recent developments in the sixth fodder case against the 73-year-old veteran commander resulted in his release on bail. The leader of the RJD was found guilty in this case, which was the final one concerning the fodder scam and including his corrupt activities, but he was allowed to go free on bond. Soon after being released from jail, Lalu went to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi to get treatment for his injuries.
